Transfers compound. One good move shapes your squad for four or five gameweeks. One bad move locks you into dead money that costs points and kills team value. FPL Pilot looks at every candidate on the FPL universe, scores them against your actual 15, and returns only the moves that matter: fixture-driven, xPts-positive, and priced correctly.
Why fixture runs beat single gameweeks
The best transfer targets are not this week's headliners. They are the players entering a green run that the wider FPL field has not noticed yet. Buying a defender with four home fixtures against bottom-half attacks is a quiet move that scores you 20+ points over a month. FPL Pilot maps the next six fixtures per player, weighted by xG and xGA, so you are buying into the run, not the recency bias.
Hits versus free transfers
A -4 hit costs you four points in exchange for a second move. The rule of thumb: take the hit only when the incoming player projects to outscore the outgoing player by at least six points across the next three gameweeks. Less than that and you are better off banking the free transfer. FPL Pilot shows the projected delta for every candidate so the decision becomes arithmetic, not vibes.
Building team value with price rises
Early-week price rises on players you were going to buy anyway lock in selling power. One well-timed transfer a week can build 1.0m in team value over a season, which becomes an upgrade slot later. But never buy a player solely for the price rise. If they do not start for you, the rise is paper value you can never spend without eating a downgrade. When should I use a free transfer vs taking a hit? +
Use your free transfer every week. Banking it gives you flexibility for a double move. A -4 hit is worth it when the incoming player is projected to outscore the outgoing by 6+ points over the next 2 to 3 gameweeks.
How does FPL Pilot decide who to transfer in? +
Pilot scans your squad for underperformers and compares them to the best available replacements at each price point, factoring in fixture difficulty, expected points, minutes safety, and ownership trends.
Should I chase price rises? +
Early-week price rises on players you already want are worth chasing. They build team value. But never buy a player solely for a price rise if you would not start them.
How many transfers should I make per week? +
One free transfer per week is the baseline. Save it if your squad is strong. Take a hit only when there is a clear points advantage, not to tinker.
