Data current as of: 4 September 2026, before the Gameweek 3 deadline. Coverage: Goals, minutes and expected goals are totals across Gameweeks 1 and 2 only, a two-fixture sample. Projected points are a separate four-fixture total covering Gameweeks 3 to 6. The two are on different scales and are never compared against each other below.

Who are the best FPL forwards in 2026/27?

Calvert-Lewin (LEE, £6.0m) is the best value forward in the game right now, at 2.72 projected points per £m across Gameweeks 3 to 6, the highest rate of any available forward. Haaland (MCI, £15.5m) is the highest projected scorer at 23.0 points over the same four fixtures. Thiago (BRE, £8.0m) and Barry (EVE, £5.5m) are the two most underrated on expected goals.

Price bracketPickWhy
PremiumHaaland (MCI, £15.5m)23.0 projected points for Gameweeks 3 to 6, 6.7 clear of any other forward
£7.5m to £9.0mJoão Pedro (CHE, £7.7m)20 points and 1.86 xG across Gameweeks 1 and 2, the best return in the game so far
£6.0mCalvert-Lewin (LEE, £6.0m)Same 16.3 projected points as João Pedro for £1.7m less, plus Leeds’ penalties
Under £6.0mBarry (EVE, £5.5m)1.93 xG in 147 minutes, more chance volume than Haaland has generated

Expected goals (xG) is the number of goals an average player would score from the same chances. It settles down faster than goals do, which makes it the better number to read after two gameweeks, and right now it disagrees with the points column in three places.

Expected goals vs actual points after two gameweeks

Isak (LIV, £9.0m) has 2.08 expected goals from 180 minutes across Gameweeks 1 and 2 and one goal to show for it. Havertz (ARS, £7.5m) has 0.28 expected goals from the same 180 minutes and also has one goal. Identical returns, very different chance volume.

Three rows are worth pulling out.

Thiago (BRE, £8.0m) has 2 points from 172 minutes and 1.80 expected goals, the third-highest chance volume of any forward in Gameweeks 1 and 2. Thiago also takes Brentford’s penalties.

Barry (EVE, £5.5m) has generated 1.93 expected goals in 147 minutes, more than Haaland or João Pedro, at the cheapest forward price worth owning. Barry is owned by 4.6% of managers.

Havertz (ARS, £7.5m) scored his goal from 0.28 expected goals. That conversion rate does not survive a full season.

Which forwards project best for Gameweeks 3 to 6?

Haaland projects 23.0 points across Gameweeks 3 to 6, ahead of Calvert-Lewin, João Pedro and Thiago on 16.3 each. The numbers below are projected points summed across those four fixtures, on a different scale to the two-gameweek totals above.

Projected points, Gameweeks 3 to 6 combinedHaaland (MCI): +23 pts, Calvert-Lewin (LEE): +16.30 pts, João Pedro (CHE): +16.30 pts, Thiago (BRE): +16.30 pts, Isak (LIV): +13.60 pts, Gonzalo (FUL): +13.50 pts, Wissa (NEW): +13.30 pts, Barry (EVE): +12 ptsHaaland (MCI)+23 pts£15.5m, 1.48 pts per £mCalvert-Lewin (LEE)+16.30 pts£6.0m, 2.72 pts per £mJoão Pedro (CHE)+16.30 pts£7.7m, 2.11 pts per £mThiago (BRE)+16.30 pts£8.0m, 2.04 pts per £mIsak (LIV)+13.60 pts£9.0m, 1.51 pts per £mGonzalo (FUL)+13.50 pts£6.0m, 2.25 pts per £mWissa (NEW)+13.30 pts£6.1m, 2.19 pts per £mBarry (EVE)+12 pts£5.5m, 2.19 pts per £m
Projected points, Gameweeks 3 to 6 combined

Haaland projects 6.7 points clear of the next forward over those four fixtures, and costs £7.5m more than the players tied for second. Haaland’s 1.48 projected points per £m is the worst rate in the top eight. Owning him means finding that £7.5m somewhere else in the squad, and the forward line is currently the cheapest place to find it.

Best £6.0m FPL forwards

Calvert-Lewin (LEE, £6.0m) matches João Pedro’s four-gameweek projection of 16.3 points for £1.7m less. Calvert-Lewin has played 180 of a possible 180 minutes this season and sits first on Leeds’ penalty order. His 1.05 expected goals across Gameweeks 1 and 2 is ordinary; the minutes and the spot kicks are what the price misses.

25.9% of managers already own Calvert-Lewin, so this is a value pick rather than a differential.

Gonzalo (FUL, £6.0m) costs the same, projects 13.5 points for Gameweeks 3 to 6, has played every minute and scored once. Gonzalo is owned by 4.6%.

Wissa (NEW, £6.1m) has 12 points and 1.35 expected goals from 171 minutes. The model gives Wissa a 0.40 start probability across Gameweeks 3 to 6, the lowest in this group, and he is fourth on Newcastle’s penalty list. He produces when he plays; whether he plays is the question.

Evanilson (BOU, £6.0m) has two assists, no goals and 0.58 expected goals across Gameweeks 1 and 2. That is the thinnest chance volume in the bracket, on an 0.82 start probability, which is the highest here apart from Thiago.

Best budget FPL forwards under £6.0m

Barry (EVE, £5.5m) has the chance volume at 1.93 expected goals in 147 minutes. The model is more cautious than that suggests, projecting 12.0 points for Gameweeks 3 to 6 on an 0.58 start probability, so Barry depends on his minutes settling.

Emersonn (IPS, £5.5m) has 10 points and 3 bonus from two starts in Gameweeks 1 and 2, but averaged 55 minutes before being withdrawn. The model has Emersonn at 11.2 points for Gameweeks 3 to 6.

McBurnie (HUL, £5.5m) has 0.16 expected goals from 180 of a possible 180 minutes, and takes Hull City’s penalties. The underlying numbers are poor and the job security is total. McBurnie projects 11.8 points for Gameweeks 3 to 6.

Is Isak worth £9.0m in FPL 2026/27?

Isak (LIV, £9.0m) leads every forward on expected goals with 2.08 across Gameweeks 1 and 2 and sits fourth on points with 10. The hesitation is minutes rather than finishing: the model gives Isak a 0.49 start probability for Gameweeks 3 to 6, the lowest of any premium forward. In the games he does start, 2.08 expected goals across two fixtures is worth the £9.0m.

Is Gyökeres worth buying in FPL 2026/27?

Gyökeres (ARS, £7.3m) has played 0 minutes across Gameweeks 1 and 2 while Havertz played all 180. The model still projects Gyökeres at 10.4 points for Gameweeks 3 to 6, pricing in a role it has not yet observed. There is no minutes evidence here in either direction, and 4.8% of managers own a forward who has not appeared this season.

Which FPL forwards are injured or unavailable?

Three forwards in the upper price brackets are out or restricted as of the Gameweek 3 deadline. Mateta (CRY, £6.4m) has a hamstring injury and is expected back on 11 October. Watkins (AVL, £7.8m) has joined Al Hilal permanently. Ekitiké (LIV, £7.5m) is flagged injured.

Prices and availability move daily. Check your own squad against current data before committing a transfer, or see the full transfer suggestions for your team.

What two gameweeks cannot tell you

All of this rests on 180 minutes of football at most. A striker on 1.80 expected goals and no goals is more likely to score next than one on 0.28 expected goals and a goal, but that is a probability, and it will be wrong in plenty of individual cases.

Minutes and penalties hold up better across a sample this small, because neither depends on finishing. Calvert-Lewin has both, which is why he is the £6.0m pick despite ordinary underlying numbers.
